My pick ups wiper motor has ceased to operate it finally gave up as I got home the other day my question is does most of the bmc cars use the same motor with the same cord as I was looking to buy a new one and a austin mini look very much the same am I right in thinking this or can one of you very much expertise gentlemen tell me otherwise before I spend my money

Yes most Lucas 2 speed wiper motors are the same. The difference is the sweep of the blades this is controlled by the large wheel under the cover, with the 4 small screws holding it on. The amount of degrees of sweep is stamped on this wheel. The wheel if different from what you find can simply be swapped over. If the Rack (spiral wire cable) is worn just ensure the one you get is the same length of longer. I have resurrected several non functioning wipers, that appear to be motor faults, by removing wiper arms pulling out the rack an greasing it. Wipers go slow at first then stop due to rack seizing in the tubes and wheel boxes.

Well you say they go slow for a while that sounds a lot like mine it had two speeds slow and slower lol I will take it apart and have a look to see if it salvageable
