Found on faceache:
Screen shot via another group: Such a shame that a 3000 mile car should end up on a banger track. With such low numbers remaining the Ital is an endangered car if no one will buy and restore them and it only fuels those that wish to race such cars. If you can save them great!

I know the car, I went to see it on the South coast somewhere (I forget). It was as rotten as a pear and would require so much work that you could never get it back on the road. The rear back panel and valence were 'see through', the sills and doors were holely, the headlight mounts, front crossmember and valence were in bits. The banger man offered the trim, engine and gearbox etc for sale through an OC contact and I bought the A+ engine and its gearbox. They are now running round in my ex (now Richard Staker's) blue Ital Pickup.
This was all about 4 years ago. This car was definitely an end of life motor that would otherwise have been weighed in.
If you want an 1.3 Ital running gear and suspension it would be ideal.

Not so bad then- sounds like a "parked on grass and left" job. At least some bits live on.

It certainly appears so. Let's hope other more viable examples can live on and find homes when they come up for sale. I actually like the Ital more now than I did over 13 years ago when I joined the club.

Same here. I'm starting to like the Ital of late for some reason. I remember borrowing my neighbors blue Ital to get to collage when my mk1 Escort would fail. Didn't give the car a second thought then as Itals were still pretty common on the roads in the mid 90's.

I think the stand out thing about eighties cars now - and I know the Ital was old fashioned in the eighties - is that they run on such narrow tyres and have a narrow track compared to later stuff.

Chris,
the one your engine came out of was Russet Brown was it not?
This looks more bronze Met?
The Ital your engine came out of was knackered in many ways and the windscreen is now in Tony Millers TC saloon

I could swear that it was this one, but if it's not I will blame impending senility
