Barry sold it to the son of a workmate who was keen and full of good intentions. He told me the story today when he picked up an axle for a young enthusiast who uses his Marina as a daily driver.

I just came on tonight to drop Matt a pm to thank him for his help today and spotted this thread.
I did own this car a couple years ago and Matt has almost remembered the story correctly. I decided to cut down the number of cars I had a while back and this was sold to a lad that worked with my mate Kenny. It needed a few minor bits and pieces sorting to get it on the road. From memory it was clutch master cylinder, prop centre bearing, soft headlamp panels and a couple of small holes in the floor. I supplied good second hand parts with the car to help things along. I believe the lad has now had his head turned by a lady and the the marina has been left on his dad's driveway. I think the floor and headlight panels have had attention from dad but that is as far as things progressed. The photo in the advert is one I took the day I bought it as you can see my old van in the back ground so must have been found somewhere on the internet. Its actually not a bad car just needing some enthusiasm and time spent on it.
The other young Marina enthusiast Matt mentioned is the 19 year old son of a friend of mine, he bought a vermillion mk2 off me in July of this year and has clocked up thousands of miles since. He uses it every day and drives it harder than he admits too. He loves the car and enjoys kicking the back end out on every wet roundabout he can find. He blew up his diff last weekend so the race was on to find a replacement to keep him on the road.
