**Salt on the roads**

:evil: **Announced today sheffield City Council is to add molasses to it winter mix of grit-salt to stop the salt content being washed away** :evil:

* so if you can use your Marina/Ital's summer months only boy and girls *

I've decided rock salt is the new rustproofing compound to inject into all my chassis sections in place of more conventional things such as dinotrol, ziebart,waxoil etc.
Seems to work for the council gritters in the North East, as their fleet is lovely & shiny yellow :)

over here they salt the roads all winter lomg ... :(

Yes, but I bet you get real snow, & ice in Norway, speaking to a member of the local Traffic Plod, the trigger level for salting the roads in the North East of England is 5 Degrees C.
Now would I be right in thinking that ice occurs at 0 degrees C.

Bunch of H&S obsessed namby pambys the lot of them :evil:

Besides which, constantly gritting roads, ends up with them becoming very greasy, as they don't dry out, even in direct sunshine :(
