Carpet suppliers

Hi guys,

I have decided to get a new carpet for my Marina.
The carpet in my car is a gold/yellow. I am yet to see a supplier of Marina carpets in this colour..
I am not wanting to change the colour, I really do want "like for like."
Does anyone know of a supplier?

You might have to ring around the suppliers to find someone who can custom make them for you.

This guy advertises on EBay, I bought a set some years ago, reasonable quality and in your likely original colour too.

I will ask if he will do my colour.
The closest he does in the advert is "champagne" but in reality, my carpet is much more yellow.
Maybe he can do yellow.... I will ask.

Bought carpet from that guy on eBay for all three of my cars. Good quality and colour match but could be a better fit for the price. After maybe a year the carpet shifts a bit and needs re positioning but when that's done it's right for good. Quality of the rubber mat by the pedals has improved too because the first car I carpeted the mat didn't last a month before wearing through but my other two are still good and been in use for a couple of years now.

Thank you for that, the carpet really let's it down, I suppose after 45 years, what do you expect!!
I have messaged him asking if he will do yellow/gold.
He mentions that he binds the edges in leather type material in a colour of your choice..
I reckon brown to match the dashboard would look cool.
I want to keep it standard though if I can.

How is the carpet secured? I don't want to drill holes to secure an aftermarket carpet.

There are plastic runners along the door sills held with Philip screws. You'll have to remove the seats, seatbelt anchors and the front under dash parcel shelf. The carpet also tucks behind the A pillar kick panels slightly.

I have already had a reply.
They think they may have a suitable colour, but only in wool.
Apparently more expensive...
I need to send an email to get a colour chart.
We will have to see what the final cost will be before I decide whether or not to compromise on colour...

I suspect that your carpet could be Ochre. What is the original paint colour of your car and Year, we should be able to confirm the original carpet colour from the BL charts.

It's harvest gold, 1972..
It has yellow vinyl seats and a brown dashboard.

I have always used Coverdale carpets for all my classic cars including my mk1 marina and they fit well, last well and are of good quality. If you ring them they will send you some colour samples.

My car is also harvest gold and I bought a carpet set from car hoods, as Gareth said it's ok quality but the fit wasn't great and needed trimming and lots of adjustment.

Colour is ok but not spot on match.

Do you have a picture you can share?
They have three tiers of quality, with the cheapest at £147, which seems excellent value. They seem to do a wider range of colours, although do not show representative pictures. I think I will do as you say and call them.
Which material option did you go for?
Did you have to make holes for the seats to pass through, or were the holes already made?


Is it recommended to fit insulation when you change the carpet, or is it best to make it as breathable as possible?

I normally get the latex backed carpet with heel pad and bound edges. I'm bringing the car home at the weekend from winter storage so I'll take a picture for you then.
