Mumford Marina Badge

Hi i was wondering if anyone had or knew anyone that happened to have a spare or replica Mumford Marina Badge just lying around that we could potentially buy. I saw a post on here ( god like ten years ago) mentioning about them but i have no idea if any were recreated. Me and my Dad own a 1975 Mumford Marina but the badge was missing from the car when he bought it so naturally we would love to get our hands on one to finish the image of the entire car. Any information on where i could potentially get one made would be great since its my task to source all the bodywork parts and such to get it back to its original condition. Also any information about the rear wind up laminate windows in particular would be great as we have no idea about if a company would be able to source or make a pair for just one car.

Thanks Miles

Is the Mumford badge the same as the wing badge but with a different foil insert? If it is, that's half the problem sorted. Just need to find someone who can stamp a foil insert. I could give it a go but I'd need an original badge to work from.

We don't think it is the same size as the wing badge. From the pictures we've seen its quite a bit bigger than the wing badge but the foil insert is a good idea. One of our other ideas was If we could find a badge and maybe make a mould from that could also work? We probably will get some pictures of it too once we have got it back on the road and out of the garage haha but that isn't far away timewise.

Could braze two "super" badges together to make up the length? I've never tried doing it but it's a thought.

Yeah it is fruity the one just underneath the boot lock!
That could work but it would be quite hard lol. i thought about maybe 3-D printing one after getting the dimensions and design for it but obviously an original or one made to a much better quality is always better.

Well, I could make one from resin but not sure how you would go about chroming it, or even getting the brushed aluminium look of the foil. It would have to be painted I think.

You need to talk to Uncle Frank or Minispeedstar. they know all about the Mumford

As mentioned badge base was same as commercial bonnet badges with a different foil insert. Good lucking sorting an insert..

The opening rear side windows are available from Pilkington glass, ask to speak to Peter Swann (from memory) but I'd be quick as I heard a rumour recently they're closing down their UK site and most of the old moulds would be scraped.

That would be a bad thing as it will mean no more custom windscreens - Do I get a spare made?

I noticed the screen on the Mumford has scratches on in from the wipers, but from early pattern ones sweeping the other way. Who knows where the screen came from!

Hi David, my windscreen was £114 but I guess they will be a bit more now.
that was for a Laminated Sundym spec with green top tint.
They could do green, bronze or blue top tints.
they also baked on a triplex mark on to make it look more original.

Be sad to see it shut down as I doubt any other place will be so good at re-manufacturing glass.
