Has anyone else had issues with the Crome plastic insert from East Kent trim that fits around the front and rear screen? I am on the second set from them in the last few months and now the replacement trim has started to degrade all ready!

It's crap, mines under 3 years old and the 'chrome' is wearing off.

Yeah had the same experience. My DL saloon had what I assume was the original stuff, the plastic had yellowed but the chrome wasn't as bad as the replacement stuff was after a few months... I find it starts at the ends, where damp gets in, and as Matt says round corners where the outer film bit gets small splits in and lets the damp in.

It's awful stuff. I wish I never sold the stainless trim from my red saloon. The plastic turned gray a few months after fitting it. I think it's white now! Maybe green next time I look at it

That is very poor. It's hard enough keeping old cars up to get her without new trim lasting just months. Does anyone know if there is another supply out there?

I'm sure Kevin 'fruity' told me about another supplier when we were discussing how crap they were at the last national.

I got some off an ebay seller a couple of years ago for my estate and it still looks fine, can't remember who it was now though. I've got some of East kents in my van that came with the new rubber seal, thats been in a year, it lives outside and still looks fine so maybe you have been unlucky with a bad roll?

We don't get enough sunshine in The North East to damage such items. Also, the air is fresh and pure, unless you live in The 'Boro!!

I did my escort hatch screens with some a few weeks ago. From a distance it's not too bad but.....has also degraded.
It doesn't like going around sharp corners.
I even did it on a red hot day having soaked it in a bucket of hot water too!
