Argh the Peugeot 504 pick up,did they make them in any other colours but white and signal orange? Are they still made new in Africa? they're Everywhere in Kenya, although the last European ones rolled of the production line years ago,i seem to think the the car definitely is made new not too sure about the pick-up though.

Big selling point was their load carrying as you said Tony a full ton,and a large load area, not seen one now for years, are their still any out there?

But take up the challenge to be a real man,you never know the results may be surprising.

The pick-up can't be a real mans form of transport!!!
A real mans form of transport needs 4 seats for all the children he has or will have
A real man has kids :|

Unless your the sort of man with a girl in each port or town loads of kids and couldn't give a monkeys etc!! :?

Ay up Paul,
I'm of the latter, but without the kids everywhere (and the CSA payments) a great believer that you get the two good years (if you're lucky) of married life, then it's down hill from there love (lust) gets replaced with laundry then it becomes acceptance, either for financial or scion reasons, just think how many of your friends are still married to the same people they were 10 years ago,and how many are on their second marriages and how many would love a fling if they didn't get found out?

No marriage was great when it first came out get married at 18,then die at 28,you didn't get chance to get fed up of the old "trouble and strife" now with the average age of a man being 77 years in the UK that means if you were to marry the girl of your dreams when you were 27 and stay with her till death that's 50 years with the same person, the girl of your dreams has become the woman of your nightmares.

And remember be good to your children, for it's them that chooses your old peoples home,so for any one reading this and contemplating married life just remember, the chances are your pick-up will be there long after your wife has gone, but the matiencence payments remain.

God! I must be so lucky :D
Married over 12 years, 38 and looking forward to everyday
Must just have a good eye for the right woman!!

I did hear a good phase a while back told to me by a young married man! He said just because I am on a diet, does not mean I can't look at the menu!! He of coarse was refering to his mariage.

It would have been easy to say back in 1987, that the reason I crashed my Marina was because I had my head out of the window looking at a lovely young lady, but it just was not the case at that time!! - No pavements!
But now being married it is the wife that points them out, which gives me plenty of time to look a head and miss the traffic and objects in my way! :D

I was always told to look and not touch, but I think that was when I visited the sweet shop

:( :( Most married men have to say how happy they are, just in case their wives are listing, woe betide them if they said any different :( :( And wives are even worse what they say about their husbands,to put this to the test go out any Thursday night and listen to the girls on a Hen night, after they have had ten Bacardi breezers, and as the saying goes if you cant get off with the married women youve problems

I agree with Frank!
And any 'lady' drinking
ten Bacardi breezers
is not the one to go for!
A. She has issues.
B. She will probably claim you had your way without consent!
C. She will look bad in the morning.

Strange as I think clubs and pubs are the worst place to pick up the love of your life! Maybe a night of passion followed by lots of problems :o
You have to have respect for each other but neither should squash the other ones dreams either! (Jubilee - Jubilee etc)

That’s my lesson over!

Well works for me. I would never do my wife down, but will occasionally take the mickey and also mention she can be clumsy at times but that adds to her character

If anyone needs emotional support----------------------------- Don't contact me as I am far to busy putting my car back together

HI.
Back to the 504 and pickups.
I see more of these around (6 or so) the Chester N/Wales area than marinas unfortunately.
They also made pale blue and, yes the same red colour like ours, that was used on the 205 gti !
Weirdest brakes though which got better with the heavier the load caused by a rear weight limiting,or not, device.
It was actually harder to stop when empty than with a ton on board.
And indicators on the proper side of the steering column like a MK 1

OK so passing over the chance to go on about unbridled nights of female conquests and other dodgy stuff concerning all the stuff we've mentioned before,i'll get back onto 504's i really think it must be over 8 years since I've seen on on the road, the last one i saw on a regular footing was a Signal Orange one that belonged to a one man band property repairer, always loaded to the gunnels with sand, bricks and cement and assorted ladders on the back.

This pick-up had never been washed in years the paint was as flat as Twiggy's chest, but it gave good service and soldered on day after day,and lead a hard life, the vinyl seat were in tatters and covered in a thick coating of "Blue Circle" bits of rope, wire ties, and empty Coke cans were strewn all over the cab inter spaced with copies of the Daily Sport,in true iconic builders style.

But to see so many in one area, wold seem very rare, were they sold more to farmers than to builders, and therefore their usage less hostile?
