Not going to tax mine until they have made a decision so mine may be off the road for a bit.

I'm told that if you tax it and then it changes category, say to Historic Vehicle the DVLA refund the balance of the tax. However Easter is three weeks into April so if you are planning to attend an Easter show somewhere you should be OK.

No tax discs being issued after 1st Oct 2014.
Looking forwards to just having my 70s replica one in the screen

You gotta admit they look nice sitting in the history folder though along with all the old MOTs

I've just looked at Josh's up date link above and it says tax can't be sold with the car but it doesn't say it will refund you either, only that the new keeper must tax the car straight away. So if I sell something with say 3 months tax on it I loose that money, the new keeper pays again to cover the same three months, the government gets double money! That's crafty, saves a big kick off if they just said we are doubling your road tax!

Not correct, you can always use a V14 to claim a refund.

That's for cashing in a tax disc which I have used loads but I get the impression that that form will be abolished along with the tax disc when they introduce the new system.

... you will get a refund for any full calendar months left on the tax period when you tell DVLA you no longer require tax.
Will this be triggered automatically when you advise the DVLA of the change of ownership?
Down here in NZ the tax transfers with the vehicle, must save a lot in admin costs.
