Sooo....with fuel pump gasket paper still yet to be obtained, no desire to change the engine oil till I'm sure the fuel leak (from said fuel pump) is gone, I decided, once the torrential downpours outside had stopped, to drain the coolant, flush the rad, and fit my 'new' hoses obtained a few weeks back off eBay. Guess what? I CANNOT FIND MY NEW HOSES!!! I turned the house over, the shed, the loft, looked in every drawer, shelf, cupboard, nook, cranny, everything. Drawn a complete blank. Long before I stopped the search I spat my dummy out, abandoned all thoughts of the job, and pushed the Marina back into the relative safety of my shoddy sectional pre-formed concrete garage with no space to work and no power supply. There. Another weekend with nothing achieved. Result.
ohh, I hate that. You probably already have but have you checked the car itself? I thought I lost a pair of new track rod ends, couldn't find them for weeks until I went in the boot for something completely different and there they were!
You'll find them and when you do you wont believe how obvious a place they were

Found 'em. Was pegging washing, went into shed for umpteenth time, standing, turning around, looking.....reached out my hand and grabbed a rolled up green M&S plastic bag which was on top of two biscuit tins of screws. Ah...there they are....why you little @@@@! Yeah, so I'd robbed the brown jiffy bag they were posted to me in for something else, so then I was looking for LOOSE hoses...but no, I'd disguised them in an M&S bag, which for some reason was like Harry Potter's cloak of invisibility when it really mattered three hours ago!!! At least I don't have to buy some more. I'm off to Wilkos now to get a big plastic storage box because EVERYTHING now associated with my Morris Marina is going to be kept in one place......even if my big plastic storage box is too big for the shed and has to sit in the middle of my living room floor....

Ha ha ha! There! Get away from me now, if you dare! So, that's what I've done to my Marina today. Bought a plastic box to put some bits in...and now it's tea-time.

Lol I think anyone who owns a marina has boxes like this well I had productive day on the marina got the engine back in with box props haft all back up then started mocking up the inlet manifold as the original clashes with the back of the suspension arm mount and can't really knoch the back of the inlet as it will restrict the air flow so I've gone chopping up inlets to get it to look as much as possible factory fit
I've managed to mount the intercooler behind the grill to keep the front all original

My first...I was content with things like filters, belts and gaskets being slotted into spaces on shed shelves UNTIL YESTERDAY!!! :-?
Space is an issue - I imagine it is for lots of people - so it is with a certain amount of envy I look at your itinerary of Marinas and motorbikes... :-D

I'm picking up late on this. It looks very nice. A Marina-looking Ital pick up? Last week I saw a Marina TC looking Ital van with MGB engine and Capri 5 speed gear box. it was one man's re interpretation of the van he owned when he was 18. It wasn't exactly a camper but it has some nice stained wooden cabinets in the back as it was this man's trade!

Finally put the parcel shelf back into PTH (been in the shed since the day I bought her!) also freshened up the interior. Front sidelights were already full of dirt so gave them a quick clean out too. As luck would have it I found the petrol tank leaking at the filler neck! I've replaced the tank on the other two here, now I need to it again to PTH! She has a later tank fitted so it's been replaced before at sometime.. can't even remember if it was me that replaced it  It's not too bad and I think a temporary repair with araldite will be good enough for now.. it better be because sparks will be flying from the rear the amount of spares I'm bringing with me to the Nats!

This time one year the engine and box only went in late Sunday after being rebuilt, on the rolling road on Thursday to be set up, oil change late Thursday night after the initial 50 miles and then set off Friday morning to Norfolk from Devon .
You've loads of time

Got the leak fixed on PTH today but who knows haw long it'll last. Cleaned up the surrounding metal for the Araldite then covered with stone chip. Petrol tank fixes like this never last so I'm on the hunt Again for a replacement tank :rolls:
