Re: What did you do to your Marina today?
I have had suggestions of jacking up the rear of the bonnet to allow cooling as well,
I would think while stationary forcing cool air in should replace some of the hot air.
I will find out soon

Flushed everything out this evening. All in readiness for Tatton Park on Sunday.
After the nationals bust hose and high heat saga I wanted to make sure the cooling system was as good as I could get. There did seem to be a fair bit of muck in the system .
I'm a little confused by this as the rad, block and head were thoroughly cleaned at the engine rebuild stage and have always using anti freeze. I can only guess that there was some accumulated muck letting go in the heater matrix. I didn't go near it or the hoses until now tbh.
Cleaned plugs and new antifreeze and rad cap.
With the new hoses , thanks club, I'm hoping for good things.
Anyone else going to this show btw?

Friends of mine who are currently in the desert somewhere in a Singer something or other did just that when it started to get a little warm- worked well apparently. Well, it hasn't cooked since anyway.balmy wrote:Jacking up the rear is something I was going to tryJubileeNut wrote:I have had suggestions of jacking up the rear of the bonnet to allow cooling as well,

Re: What did you do to your Marina today?
In the last hour, after Sunday family obligations are fulfilled, with fading light and impending rain, I took the radiator out again to take it for a re-core sometime next week. When leaving the garage area temporarily, I tried closing the up-an-over garage door, with reversed-in car and open bonnet, to stop the cat getting in where there was spilled antifreeze. Took a big chunk of paint off the leading edge of the bonnet. Sheer genius.

I've done that with the boot lid! Only I had two goes before I realised.

I feel your pain, the day I put the freshly expensively painted Sd1 back in its lock up I did the same thing! Very annoying.

Re: What did you do to your Marina today?
Fitted goodridge plastic coated braided hoses to the front of the marina GT made a link pipe brake pipe like the late ital set up so that the braided hose goes the other side and screws straight into the back of caliper.

Fitted the replacing drivers window that Baz got me, I can now see out! Bit fiddly especially trying not to chip the paint.
