Where did you get the cover and is it leather?
You could turn any steering wheel in to a TC one by sewing on leather as I think there is no other difference.

That's another difference between the UK TC and Australian TC, which had a three spoke wooden wheel as standard, or a three spoke leather wheel as an option.

I thought that too but there is actually a difference with the TC wheel. When I stripped the old cover off I was just going to use it as a standard Marina wheel but the cross bar has recessed steps molded into it so that the cover fits flush! If you zoom in on the second pic you can just see the step at the edge of the cover at the cross bar. Same on the front but it's deeper.
It's real leather and I got it from the Bay, someone called 'MR Steering' or Customsteering, just give him your measurements and he'll make one up for you. Comes with loads of thread so if you mess up (like I did!) you got plenty to play with.

So, today I adjusted the drum brakes on PTH and two adjusters were pretty seized so had to take the drums and shoes off to free them up.
Oiled all the locks and finally fixed the moving rear seat base due to missing hooks. I bought some metal dowel from B&Q and cut and shaped them. What a headache fitting them things! After much grease and almost two cans of WD40 managed to loosen up the rear door hinges.. not perfect but far better now. Off for a re test tomorrow as she failed on a rotten jacking point and miss aligned headlights.

After much collecting of pieces of interior from all three corners of the uk I have delivered them to the upholsterers. Attached are couple of pictures of the state of the seats after Gary's man had a go,quite a jigsaw of foam, and that blue with white piping, not to my taste.
It will be returned resplendent in navy blue sometime, just the carpets, oil leaks, battery and clutch to sort.

Hi Glen, Is Uptons expensive or not bad on price? If you don't mind me asking?
Be nice to see the finished result?
Regards,
Paul.

Will we see it at the Nats this year Glen? Was certainly eye catching before, will be interesting to see it dialed back a bit though

To answer some questions, Dave Upton prices each job individually,we haven't agreed a price,I don't think he's cheap. The front seats shown in the pictures aren't going back in,they were shot. The quality of his work is unbelievably good with some of the cars he has in worth more than half a million!
I have booked for the nats this year, along with pops, but don't know which white wonder will wend its way.

Are the seats you had from me any better? Hope they are of some use (looks like they are hiding in the top pic!).
Be good to see you and Pops in July, with or without the Mumford...

Balmy - i was quoted £360 to repair a pair of Mk1 front seats where the Ambla trim was fine but small splits on the side panels. Im hoping to find a good secondhand pair instead....
