Yes Bryan there is. Porsche. It is sad that people have forgotten the 924.These were on a lovely Marina 4 cylinder luxury pack coupe I was given years ago.

The centres are off my Targa mags on the V8. They are urethane replacements for originals.

Are they P76 alloys?

I believe they were originally for the Force 7.
But when they didn't release the Force 7 they used them on the P76 Targa Florio.
Bit of trivia, these are later series mags as they have the chamfer on the inside edge for more clearance to the ball joint.

I think they were to be honest, but I'm not 100% sure. That was the registration of one of the advert cars I think when the Marina was released from memory, whether it was blue or not I can't be sure without looking at the advert again. My girlfriend has a Marina model with the registration AET 300L and I know that's a real car (not sure if it's still going) and the model looks just like it so it's very possible they're based on real cars

I know some Vanguard's are based on real live cars because I've read about where the people from Corgi came out to take photos and measurements. A little while back I posted something in 'Off Topic' with photos of a Sahara Beige Cortina 2000E when I was astonished at the asking price, but it's claim to fame was it was the one used to model MK3 Cortinas by Corgi and supposedly there's a model version bearing the same registration number. But the Teal Blue Vanguards Marina was the very first release, so I half expected that to be based on an actual living car, but I'm now not sure if there are any 1971 J 1.8 four-doors left.

All the advert cars were the WOH ***J press cars, at least two of which had prototype chassis numbers.

WOK 120J was a later press car, probably built after they had built the first batches of Bedouin 1.3 Deluxe coupes (which included my car).

I believe the actual car that Vanguards measured from to produce their saloon model was my old Bedouin 1.8 saloon HUC 766K, back when Andy Walsingham owned it.

Dazza is right, they are Porsche 924. I thought they looked very Volkswagen so I searched VW Audi and saw a few 100s wearing them. VW was heavily involved with the 924 so it's possible they were designed by VW.

Dazza's are a darker colour than on the Audi but the castings look the same. As you say, the Porsche had a lot of VW/Audi input (did it not have a 2ltr engine from the VW LT van?) so it's no wonder the wheels got used.

Why did Audi and Porsche use the Ford 4 1/4" (108mm) PCD?
