Thanks Gary,
Total now £350.00 - Gary evened the numbers up for us, well done mate.
I also got this from Brian White via Andy W
"Hi. Andy
thanks for your time tonight when I called. As you said you would forward this to Chris as I would
like to say thanks to all members of the club for their support and for all the good things that they
have said about Darren. I did read on the forum that Chris is arranging a collection for which I say
thanks. After the funeral the funeral directors will tell me the amount of the donations that have
been sent. This will probably take about 6-8 weeks. When I am told I will mail you with the
total amount that will be sent to the Hospice. I chose the Hospice as it was where his Mum died,
and I dont know of any charity that he would choose. The T.C. is being put into my name and it
will be used around my local shows and maybe further, but I cant drive two together. Chris from
Clacton has offered to help at anytime (thanks Chris)
Once again thanks".

heres a photo of Darrens Coupe at Swanto Morley, i'm sure if you'd have spoken to him you'd remember Budgie, he was that kinda guy, and his Marina is awesome, the interior is trimmed in leather and smelled like my bentley inside.

R.I.P. Darren You will be missed, I only met you a couple of times and i know i will i was looking forward to 2012 and talking to you about you car.I ove all Marinas but yours kinda stood out from the crowd a testament to the work involved putting it together..

Thanks Ray,
Some of us went to Darren's funeral today, I was amazed at the range of people he knew. Brian W was OK and was pleased with the turnout (about 200 I think). Darren's family celebrated his love of cars and his obsession with 'getting it right'.
The hearse was a vintage Bentley converted I think to a hearse in I think the 70s or 80s by the look of it. Darren's sister had this wreath made especially.

OK the grand total so far is £400 which I think is brilliant.
Although I will pay this on to the Hospice now, if anyone still wants to contribute they can and I'll send a separate catchup payment later.

All,
I received this message from Brian this evening.
"Hello everybody this is Brian. I wish to thank everyone for the kind comments put on the net about Darren.
It is a bit hard at the moment, but the worst is having to sell his collection of cars. They are all
from the Rover family. The worst is looking at the re-built and painted engine on the bench for his Metro Turbo.
The other reason for this message is to let you know that the club members donated a terrific amount of money
for the Hospice.I dont know the amount as the funeral directors have sent the donations off, but Chris knows the amount. The total amount that was
raised was £720.
Thank you once again. Hope to see you at various shows
Brian"
Just to remind everyone, we raisd £400 out of that total.
Brian will be bringing Darren's TC to the National, although he is looking to sell other various BL/Rover group cars. I don't know all the cars but they include an SD1, Rover 75 ZTT 260, Metro Turbo (in bits but Darren had finished the bodywork to his usual high standard), a couple of TR7s, Montego etc.
