Looking good Jan-Ivar.

Are the door cards black or midnight blue? They look like my SDL ones without the caps.

Considering the state this was in when you got it and the time frame I am impressed.
Looking nice
At least the car is solid now.

A spitting image of my ute!
Do utes normally have a wooden 'capping' that goes around the top edge of the deck?(mine does)

And how/where do you find its colour designation? i.e I was wondering if mine is Glacier White.

the door cards are black
theoriginal colour would sometimes be underneat layers of resparays, flatten it back carefully and you will reveal it. It might also help to look on the underside behind underseals, in the boot, engine compartment etc, as most quick blow overs is just topside. On mine the engine compartment - bed- cabin and underside was white - so it was easy. :)

Yep, mine is white alright, enough paint inside and under the bonnet (It has had a resparay before I got it) - but is it Glacier White?
Was there any other white colours available for these utes?

slowly progressing on this one .
i couldn't fing anything looking like the original number-plate holder

so i ordered one for a mini pickup

marking the panel - putting some masking tape - stops the drill-bit from "slipping" and are the safe way to drill holes in painted panels

Image

the finished plate holder in place - - went overboard and ordered the chrome numberplate lightas i think it looked better than plain black.

Jan-Ivar

The way that sits in the recess in the rear panel it looks like that was what was originally planned. Good job there.

I don't know if it was original , but even the rubber "bumpers" from mini-pickup fitted neatly in predrilled holes in the nos tailgate. Also the pick-up numberplate is hinged which adds to autenticy, so in all i'm quite pleased with how it came out....
