Frank was one of the instigators of this cunning plan, I need to drop him a line at some point soon anyway, I'll ask
Cheers for the hint on the front windows too Paul, will keep my eyes open

The estate that slowly dissapearing in my garden has stainless trim around the top of front and back doors and the bit between the doors.

Not *all* seats were the same, DL seats are different. Narrower, shorter and less comfortable

Different covering too.

Interesting...

As in, stainless trim surrounding the top & sides of the window on all the doors...? If so, would said slowly dissapearing Ital consider giving up it's stainless trim to enable the blingification of it's Mk1 brother?

Yeah, but no- one is interested in those uncivilised DL thingies Josh
I suspect I'll probably end up getting seats retrimmed anyway, the vinyl ones seem to suffer a bit (mine are particuarly mullered, hence the covers- comfy though). So they can always be made into TC- alikes when that is done, so long as the standard SDL seats are more or less the same underneath. Frank did say he may be able to help with the fronts anyway

Curiously, my Aussie-sourced Super Coupe had a clock instead of the TC's revcounter, but all the 1.8 estates in NZ had the revcounter as standard.

That is correct.

I have seen some SDLs with smooth vinyl seats, TCs had 'perforated' vinyl seats, but my SDL had them too.

Never, I'm too attached to my pool ball! Down wiv da kidz, me.
Actually, I'm one of those terrible people that insists on driving with my hand on the gearstick (yes, I know!) and I much prefer the ergonomics of the pool ball over anything else I've had.
Back on topic, the currently fitted seats are perforated. Seems like they chopped and changed a fair bit!

Well, I'd spotted that I'd written "that insists on driving with my hand on the gearknob" and amended it to gearstick to try and minimise the innuendo, this would appear to have been in vain

Yellow gear knob !!!
That should be wood effect plastic but most have had the surface wear away to leave a smooth orange yellow plastic!
I know as mine is new and still has all the wood grain!!
