Nothing to do with fuel consumption my ar$e, you forget the reason people drove marina's in the first instance, i.e. they were tight as a gnats chuff, & anything requiring more than a 30 mile return trip from the west midlands was vetoed by Norbert Colon!.
As for Northern shows, Temple Newsham 1992, was visited by softie southerners, who wanted to get their cars on the Telly, they then required a nice lie down in a darkened room when they realised how much they had spent getting there.

Hope this helps clarify the situation, & the reason I left the fold in the first place!
