Hey all.
Trust you are coping well with the enforced homestay and all in good health.

All this time at home has been moving a few projects forward a bit.
I am beginning to contemplate the rebuild of my Leyland Coupe into a Morris Coupe, so I am trying to figure out what is different between the two.
My rolling body has very few fittings in place so there are problems to be solved.
My first concern the rear side windows. I think I can source some suitable rubber which forms the inner seal, but I have no rubber inserts for the tabs on the leading edge of the chrome surround or window frame. Are these an available part from anywhere.?
Also - the stainless trim which appears to be riveted along the window aperture beneath the window itself - is there an approved method of preventing rust happening underneath it.?

Hi Kilroy, good to see you're back into it.

I posted some info on the rear quarterlights here. I haven't been able to find them anywhere. Gordon in Invercargill pulled a rusty TC out of a paddock, and was able to salvage 3 of the hinge rubbers for me (the 4th one broke in half).

Skip Harris gave me a contact for someone in the states who could make them from polyurethane (iirc) fro $90, but when contacted they said they were for Austin America (2-door 1100/1300). Haven't been able to confirm if BL used the same rubbers in the Marina.

Who ever did the rust repairs on my Coupe has filled in the holes for the lower trims, so I still need to get a good panel beater to redrill the holes and figure out a way to install that will stop the rust. My parts book doesn't show anything about this trim, so don't know if there is supposed to be a seal of any sort.

Why not bond them on with Terroson 9220 it is the sort of thing was designed for I have even used it to fit rear wheel arches it not cheap but will do the job

The skin formation time is 15 min. Use any type of professional dispensing tool with a piston rod for application; e.g. the Teroson STAKU HAND GUN; best application results are achieved with Teroson POWER LINE II AIR PRESSURE GUN or Teroson ET AIR GUN MULTI PRESS. Surface preparation with Teroson VR 20 recommended.

David - I think what they are talking about are the ‘rubber’ hinges for Coupes with opening rear side windows. They had rubber hinges on the B post and catches close to where the Coupe windows come to a point. I think that they were standard on export models. I have seen them on some early TC Coupes in the UK, but most UK Coupes came with fixed glass only.

Bryan/Ken - The thundering silence from the UK end is due to nearly all UK cars having fixed windows, so we don’t get the problem that you have.

You asked for UK part numbers, these pics are from the BL parts catalogue. Parts numbered “ADA” aren’t usual on Marinas, so they may we’ll have been borrowed from the 1100/1300 range.

Sorry didn't make it clear I was thinking about the lower stainless steel trims that are pop riveted to the quarter panel.

I do think however it or a windscreen bond would work if put in the hinge slots it would stay flexible enough to allow window to hinge

Thanks for all the answers. I'll have a look for the Teroson, only found this Marina equivalent so far. Not cheap, but if it avoids drilling holes and creating potential for leaks and rust, probably worth it. :-)

It should work from the description on site says its the equivalent of industrial 9220 cost is shown as $49.99 I pay roughly £23.00 + VAT per tube in the UK

I've used tiger seal on mine in places.
The LE models had opening rear windows too. Ours did.
