Could it be Brazil Metallic? When I was looking for a TC, about 22 years ago, I looked at one in Chelmsford, Essex. A similar colour on an 'N' plate. Frank told me about it at the time and said it was Brazil Metallic.

I would normally say yes, but mine is still on soggy original suspension, waiting for new springs and shocks to be fitted. OK for normal use, but not for the track!
Also, I have only just got home after nearly six weeks in hospital, and unable to drive yet, if at all! Hoping to get back behind the ...

Best thing to do is not to buy the DVD. Hit Clarkson in the pocket.

The article in Clasic Car Weekly is just a re-run of the same article that appeared about 18 months ago, only they have tried to make it look different by changing the colour of the car. I havn't seen the other one yet.

I was 10 years older than you when I bought mine, so I treated it more carefully, that's why we owned it for 8 years

I also had a Rover 216 Vitesse, (Black, 1987, D227 HEU), bought in 1990 at 3 years old, we kept it for 8 years! What a car!! It was VERY quick. I once beat a Ford Orion away from the lights, with a caravan in tow :D :D :twisted:
Only thing against it was the dreaded rust. A very rare car these days ...

If it's smoothrite hammerite, you should be able to get a fairly good finish by just brushing it on. A lot easier than spraying.
