Thanks for your views, I have it booked in at the bodyshop and would really like to see it done. The temptation is to change the colour, wheels ect. Then you probably
reduce the interest over leaving it standard. It's a 1.8 auto so I don't think it will be particularly easy to move on anyway ...

I have to decide by Friday whether to restore or sell my mk1 saloon, it is basically very solid structurally, needs minor work to rear arches, door skins. Does need a drivers door and bootlid though.

Selling it now wouldn't finance finishing the mk 1 coupe, selling it when done may get me a fair ...

It appears that the trusty mk1 is about to throw a wobbler. I collected it on Sunday and within 40 miles it split the lower rad hose which I taped up and limped home with.
The problem seem to have stemed from a knackered thermostat. I sorted that out and have been running it as a daily this week but ...

I would have put two screws in the 8 and made CAMEL if they were still on the car. I notice PEN 1S was posted up, that plate belongs to or at least used to belong to motorcycle racer now commentator Steve Parrish, he had it on a Mercedes 190 Cosworth in the mid ninetys if I remember rightly

Kit cars mate, you get all sorts of weird n wonderful descriptions on the v5s, either that or the guy has just fancied a bit of a wind up!
