They are the same as the MGB. There are two types, the early one with an upright oil filter and the later one with a hanging filter. For a 1971 car it would be the upright filter. You should find a used one on eBay, or new from MGB Hive. https://mgbhive.co.uk/product/12h3273-mgb-oil-filter-housing/

Don"t forget the MG Midget, 1975-1979. Due to rationalization, it had the same basic engine, and same trans as the Spitfire(no OD option tho). Rationalization, is that a Brit euphamism?
Kinda - The pre-1975 Midget gearbox was a hangover from the days of the Austin A40 and the Morris Minor. The ...

Re: Another clutch question
There are several methods of clutch slave removal, but there are some common steps.
1. Disconnect the clutch feed pipe from the slave.
2. Knock the mushroom headed pushrod out from between the slave and the clutch release arm - I use a large screwdriver.
3. Remove the large rubber cover from the ...

Re: Rear shock absorbers
The crush tube in the middle of your shockers are quite thick, if you are careful you should be able to drill or ream out the holes to 1/2”.
Alternatively, if you can push out the existing crush tubes with some sockets in a vice, you could then push in some correct dimension tubes, either from your ...

Recently fitted the 2.0 camshaft to my 1.7 Ital, this week I changed the needle and spring and installed some colder plugs and set up the timing and tickover, she idles lovely at 750-800.
Subjectively, she feels very torquey and peppy. A quick trip up the local dual carriageway, showed 70 mph very ...
