Re: Should I...?
Seeing as the TC has always had dead plates, and after I rebuilt it the first time and got it driving I wasnt old enough to have my license (had only just turned 15) I wasn't really able to try it on the highway  I did admittedly get up to a speedo reading of 150km... and all I remember was ...

Re: Should I...?
Cheers for all your opinions
Realised the minor wasn't my thing, so the choice was made obvious, and I bought the Marina! 8)
Guy I bought it off reckoned he couldnt drive it safely at much over 80 km/h (50mph) would this be right given that its a mk1?
Anything I can do to make it ...

Re: Some Marina Pictures! Anyone know the Coupe?
The top photo is an Australian TC on the optional factory alloys. I don't know why the factory painted the lower body in black, but every Mk1 Aussie Coupe I've seen was done that way. :?
Interestingly, my Mk1 Aussie Super Coupe doesn't have the lower body in black. But both my Aussie TC Coupes ...

Re: Aussie Marina 40th Birthday
Oh don't worry, that is the plan 8) It just depends how long this guy takes to rip the engine and box out of it... then ITS MINE
But depending on how soon this meet will be, I might still not make it

Re: Aussie Marina 40th Birthday
I was going to suggest Nelson, but didnt wanna sound selfish
I'd definetely be up for it, just depending on when as I may not have a car to drive.
Problem with doing it at this time of the year is that I (and maybe charliesafari?) won't have our cars finished, which (for me at least) would ...

Re: Aussie Marina 40th Birthday
Marina engine and box won't fit in the minor though unfortunately, so it'd be much more hassle to get any useful power out of it.
Marina will be bought as a rolling body, and it will receive my 1750 TC engine (just lying round anyway  )
The Marina is $300 to me, as a personal friend of the ...

Re: Aussie Marina 40th Birthday
Just for arguments sake I have to drive 25km to get to town (if you call Oamaru a town) which is one reason why Im not enjoying the thought of the Minor.
I really don't care what people think, which is partially why I want either of these instead of the Skyline, as a big 'f**k you' to all the ...

Re: Should I...?
Thought I'd get that reply, and right now Im thinking "why did I even consider the minor?"
For the record the chassis thing was just an example, I tend to have bad luck with these things. I have actually crawled around in the dirt and wet grass under the car and checked every bit that I ...

Re: Should I...?
Cheers for the advice everyone, my Skyline is officially for sale now, so its on! 8)
Went and viewed the car this morning, it has a few little bits of rust (nothing I cant sort) and is generally a bit rough, but its a lovely burnt orange colour and the interior is so nice! (black vinyl)
