Mine was retrimmed using a navy bedford cord (Not nylon) from Woolies trim. Very hard wearing material. Not sure they still have it though as it was 15 years ago! Very good match for original colour and had a similar look. Nylon was not the best for wearing as it just fell apart.

Here you go. Bedford Cord - Navy Blue. Company based in Moseley, Birmingham. If you aren’t sure, contact them and ask for a sample.

Hi Chris,

Not sure that is the same material. Bedford cord was used on retrimming vintage Bentley cars, I think this is corduroy like the material used for trousers possibly? Bedford cord I used is a tough material. one side is more smooth which I used on the rwar parcel shelf as I made a new shelf and fitted speakers underneth and the other side a faint line like the nylon original. The colour was such a good match. I have seen navy nylon on a retrim but it was lighter in colout than the original material.

Worth getting a sample though as it may work well?

Woolies still have grey Bedford cord, you could dye it? Also I have seen some car restoration programs where they make the material as it is nolonger available but I guess that costs loads of cash.
Bedford cord is not cheap anyway. I spent £250 on bedford cord 15 years ago! plus £130 on carpet :o
