8) Frank solved my front suspension problem on my J plater.
The very early ones had the shorter stub axle and no spacer behind the shockers, but the stub axles had been changed to the later ones but there was still no spacer plates behind the shocks.
got them through the post yesterday and as soon as the weather clears i will get them fitted.
as Frank said previously they are all flame red saloons.
really pleased you have got it at last. did the rear mini screen do the trick.

Standard leaf springs , no wing mirrors , apart from those lovely ones you can see and alternator as optional extra !! and great drum brakes !! Interior is in quite good nick under the period sheep skin covers , so i'll post some more pics when they come off .
I'll let Frank point out what she needs panel wise but generally she's pretty solid underneath !!
Mechanically she needs new brakes , propshaft centre bearing and basically a good clean and grease up !! Engine sounds good although with a bit of white smoke so probably needs a look at but only done 70,000 from new !!
Cant wait to get stuck into this one , should be fun !!
By the way the sheepskin covers might go down well in scotland when its a bit cold if you're interested !!

In 1999 I owned a red 1971 TC coupe LHD with a chassis number in the 71xx series - wasnt bad at all, only needed a few small plates, new front carpets but I didnt have any storage space and a very fine bargain low miler MG Maestro 2.0 EFi popped up so it was chopped up although I did offer it to Steve Bilverstone for £100 come and get it or swap for an Ital van but he declined..............
