Upgrading The Forum

Post by ClaytonSpeed » Mon Jan 14, 2008 3:55 pm

Just to let you know we are going to be upgrading the Forum to tie in with a new release of our Garage application. Here are some FAQ's for you:

What does this mean for me?

The forum will be changing to incorporate new features and security applications. You won’t need to do anything.

Will any content be lost?

No. Everything will be backup up so in the event of a system failure we can return to square one. Saying that, I can’t guarantee that all avtars will be transferred so please make sure you back them up so they can be added back into your profile.

Will I need loose my password?

There is a possibility some accounts will delete passwords. In this situation please just use the ‘Forgotten Password’ button

When will this happen and will the forum be offline?

I am in the installation stages at the moment of the new forum. The code has been checked. The forum will be offline whilst everything is merged over. This will not take too long and I will try to do it one morning so not to cause massive access problems.

We are currently waiting for the new Garage software to be available. An ETA has not yet been given but this gives us time to test the new board.

Any questions please PM me.

Ben

The page normally stretches due to large pictures or long links (which is why I change them).

I can't see what post of Jim's you are referring to as none of the posts in the J reg thread seem to affect my window?

I think it could be Larry's screen resolution. If you have it set too low then web pages that are designed for high resolutions will appear bigger on lower resolution screens.... Have I confused you now?!
