Well it's not a museum as such it's the training ground in Basingstoke and just so happens that today they had a kids xmas party and had gathered some of the vehicles together to show off. Apparantly there are a lot more who couldnt make it!

Patrol guys are all a hoot! Hopefully they will make it to the National next year :)

I do recall, many years ago, when the AA approached the club and offered the Ital van for a very reasonable sum of money.Included was two sets of overalls and the correct tools and fittings in the rear.As stated in the recent MMOC magazine the van had a nominal mileage as it had only been used for promotional work.I did enquire what was happening with the van and was informed that the club was trying to"sort something out".Perhaps Frank may be able to shed some light as the next time I asked I was informed that the committee had decided not to do anything about the offer. However the details of the representative from the AA were "not available".
Imagine my surprise when the Ital turned up in the AA compound on what was my "patch" in Gateshead, near Newcastle. The van was left outside, and my enquiries were met with a negative response until I was contacted and asked if I could help out with some spares.A new bonnet and some other bits and bobs were sourced before the van was painted and eventually moved on to its' new home. It's nice to see it looking so good as it was starting to rot away where it was.If it hadn't been for the enthusiasm of the two AA chaps who did the work on it I dread to think what the van's fate would have been.Clearly the AA weren't interested.Anyway, nice to see a happy ending for a change
