I had a telephone call from a lady who had seen my car for sale on classiccarsforsale.co.uk she said she was from a place called classic car source a company that finds cars for other people and and that a couple of her clients could be interested in my car so she would phone me back to arrange a time so that the area rep could come and view the car,
about a hour or so later a gentleman telephoned me from classic car source and asked me all about the car then went on to say he could guarantee he could get me £1500 for the car all it would cost me is £89 to which i replyed if you get me £1500 for my car mate and i will happily give you £89 he then went on to say i had to give him the money over the phone there and then off my credit or debit card and when he sells the car for me he would return the money as a gesture of goodwill, when i said i wasent willing to hand over £89 over the phone to someone i dont know he hung up,
Has anybody else come across these scamming ba****ds before? he did sound quite convincing.

Only yesterday a client asked me my opinion on a loan he wanted to take out with a company that offers small un-secured loans.
After looking at the paperwork that read like this,
amount of loan £400
approx interest rate 23.1%
per month £41.04
Total repayable £492.40
Pretty much as you might think, but this was subject to an application fee of £49.99,and the company were only brokers, contactable via telephone or P.O box no office address.
I phoned on his behalf to the number stated on the paperwork, the phone was answered by a woman with a very strong African accent (and to the sound of children playing in the background this was never an office in a month of Sundays!) when asked if he wasn't successful would his application fee be refunded back to him,the woman started to become evasive and off hand.
hasten to add i advised my client to stay well clear of these scam merchants,so to fulfill their obligation all that has to be done is this company makes a phone call or a general e.mail and so complying to the fact they are indeed brokers, and they couldn't care less if the loan goes through or not for they have their £49.95 and the worst part this is totally legal.
