Damn that was an excellent episode!! I just loved seeing the Marina back on Top Gear in all it's horribleness! Lets just go back and remember how many Marina's Top Gear have destroyed?? OH YES IT WAS 3!!

Well lets hope this becomes a new tradition on Top Gear as there are plenty more pianos still to come and these things need to be destroyed except for one as James May said "You need one as a warning from history"

Now lets all embrace the absolute FAIL of the Morris Marina!

But dont take it all out on Top Gear! its the helicopter piano removal companies fault!

I've just been over to the final gear site.

Nice old marina discussion going on over there

Just thought i would post here what i said there

own a marina

I'm not that large when it comes to weight

Neither am i clinically insane, though no doubt most will disagree

Its a mk3 1980 model, best of the breed and i love driving it.

And no before you ask i have driven lots of other cars, the best of which was a Porsche 996 turbo, absolutely fantastic.

One point the top gear episode did bring up was that these are bloody unbreakable cars, it drove to the fag end of France

Survived the ice race and was only killed by another flying piano....

My partner owns a Toyota Corolla, dull as dishwater but it does the job, that car is an appliance.

The Marina was designed as a stop gap that lasted 14 years, it was due to be replaced in 1976-77 but by 1975 BL was in such a state it had no money and ado77 segued into Marina mk2 then 3 then ital. Yes it was built for too long but i love it.

Handlings not great, i owned a 1984 Mini and that was fantastic, 17 years old drum brakes it was the perfect introduction to danger and fun times.

The marina is not on the same planet, its nosiy, bouncy at times and the driving position is ever so slightly offset and yet i wont get rid of it.

We here all love cars, i do i may drive a Marina but i love most cars the exotica down to a Fiat Panda 100hp. All good in my book.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion and no doubt i will get a sh!!storm for posting this but i dont care, i love top gear and i love cars, just dont drive on as good as many people on here, doesnt mean it dont have a right to be on the road.

I think that the idea of last night was to get a reaction, as the last time, to give TG a lead in to their Marina funeral, James May again. After reading through the postings since the program aired I don't think we have reacted in the way they thought we would so it helps to make it more difficut for them although you know they will think of something. I have heard that even the close followers of TG are now getting bored with the continuous battering of the Morris Marina with the exception of the odd few children who shall remain nameless. The one thing to make my day was reading through the postings of a certain Jeremy Clarkson, now been banned, who couldn't spell or manage to compose a sentence properly. This is sort of ironic as, during the last series of TG, a certain Mr Clarkson read out some of the postings from the Marina forum. Mine was one of those and the only thing that JC could comment on was my spelling of the word "to" in the context that I had used it. Should have had two o's. No pun intended. Sorry Mr Clarkson Sir, I shall consider myself told off and placed on the naughty step  . Mr Clarkson should groom his namesakes better in the future

For someone who seems to hate all things Marina you seem to be a bit slow off the mark. I love Marinas and I've already seen it  .

Top Gear is ace and I will offer my Marina to them to destroy should they wish to do so. Anything to get on the telly and the cash would be useful. There is loads of Marinas left so what wrong in destroying a few here and there. I have the cars I want in my collection and that's all that matters to me and before you ask NO they aren't all Marina's
