How about a members only area which is invisible to the public?
I can think of umpteen reasons it would be advantageous to discuss certain matters out of the public eye.
This are would become available to a member only when they had been on the site a while, or if their bona fides were vouched for by an established member who knows them personally.
Thoughts?

A good idea! As long as it did not put new members off.
Would need to talk to one of the moderators or Ben!

It wouldn't put them off, as they wouldn't know about it.
A forum I was on dealt with Nigerian 419 scamming. The private forums were so that scammers couldn't join the site and instantly see what measures were being taken against them.
After a few months and a few trophies, members were emailed , and the private forums opened to them.

Re: Private Members Only Area?
As a fairly new member I would say it's a good idea. It gives the moderators & club organisers somewhere to discuss goings on without hassle.
I'm on a few forums for other cars and having a members area works well. Closed business such as AGMs and policies can be discussed without scaring new memebers or those who don't really care to get that involved.
Don't go for a completely closed forum though as it does put up a brick wall and a lot of members will come to the club through the website.
