The regulations for all motor vehicles whether new, restored or built from scratch are subject to changes this year and in the future, certainly Kit cars have been under close scrutiny.
My cautionary note was that, in certain conditions, new regulations may apply.

Russ appears to have a handle on the various regs that do apply so I will be interested to see the end result, even if it is not of direct use for me.

Good evening gentlemen,

Sadly with any projects like this the amount of sales needed to make such undertaking a genuine commercial venture is not always as simple as we would like it to be,as the reality of cost becomes a deciding factor to weather such schemes can go ahead.

This might well be the case with these fuel tanks,simply down to the economic side of things,that costs will be prohibitive to their manufacture,a down side to this is the,company who would be doing the manufacturing would be willing to make other Marina products,two of these we have spoken about are wheel arch liners and protective under engine trays,but once again monetary cost would be instrumental in their conception.The proposed fuel tank order would be the first steps to a possible manufacturing partnership

At the moment on the fuel tank footing pre-production interest is at the 20% level,but we are still only in the very early stages of this proposal,we shall just have to wait and see how the orders go before the final decision is taken as to whether or not they get the go ahead.

Well whilst my fuel tank looks to be OK, it does have mild surface rust and I would of looked towards its overhaul anyway so I certainly would be interested in this plastic replacement if it was priced reasonably (I have a hunch it would still be cheaper then getting my own fuel tank repaired).

There is a product POR15 (http://www.por15.com/) that I have used to repair a motorcycle tank.
It worked well, but with a larger tank, would take a bit more care and handling.
I understand it is a one shot process so instructions need following to the letter.
It may prove to be a saviour for a tank or two if the plastic tanks are too expensive.
