Looks like a regular hacker, the type who like to tag websites as hacked to show their scumbag hacker buddies! Nothing to do with Marina bashing in this case...hopefully with Chris looking at website updates in the future it will be a thing of the past soon.

On another note I'm going back down to Lewes in Sussex for two weeks over Christmas to see the family and was wondering if you minded me dropping in to have a look at your restoration JubileeNut.

Who knows but AVG can't see anything virus like on the site.

It doesn`t take a brain surgeon to work out the probable culprits of this latest assault on the club  , i reckon we can point the finger in the general direction of the little boys club (finalgear forum), even as we speak there is a new thread on there with a link to the `careless air` thread, with more of the usual slagging off going on, sorry but i don`t believe in coincidence lately.
The `little boy` that started this one off is just 17 years old, drives a brand new Renault Clio GT and knows bugger all about old cars other than what TG has told him, they stopped making Marinas 13 years before he was even born for christs sake!
I must be getting old guys, when i started driving back in the 70`s i had to buy my own car, insure it, maintain it and put petrol in it, now it seems `daddy` buys them a brand new car, insures it, taxes it....and then buys them another one when they drive it like a t*at and smash it up!....come back Gene Hunt  , at least we had a bit of respect for other peoples property and other peoples points of view without resorting to vandalism and public ridicule on TV !
Sorry guys, rant over

Maybe Frank, but the hacker tag is for a Hacker Crew who randomly vandalise all sorts of websites.

Just one of those things.

Actually the Clio GT is rather nice shame a spotty little 17 year old WILL write it off!

Actually repaired the window on the Delux and got her started again last week (I won't say what was wrong...too silly). Looks like the engine isn't in quite a bad state as I was thinking, looks like the knocking noises were the gearbox rather then terminal going ons in the engine!

As for the Clio, learnt to drive in one during 96/97...excellent car. The GT is one of the best hot hatch out there... Funnily one of the guides in the recent copy of Understeer is about how to use Clio brakes on the Marina.

So when this snot nosed kiddy writes off his Clio GT I will be happily waiting at the scrap yard to buy the brakes off the wreck to fit on my Marina

My everyday runaround is an Audi A4 19 TDi Avant, which is a fantastic car that i would never be without, the Clio just can`t touch it for build quality or MPG but i must admit the Clio is more comfy seat-wise, you`ve got to hand it to the old Frogs...they do make comfy seats!

And that is whats silly about all this Top Gear stuff! Most members of the club run other cars, the Marina is usually owned for sentimental personal reasons...first car...learnt to drive in one...parents/father had one...the list goes on!

I own a Mondeo Titanium X a car and model that Jeremy Clarkson himself thinks is one of the best he has ever driven and I own a Suzuki GSXR 750K8 a motorbike that many a bike magazine will say is the best they have ever ridden!

My Marina meets a personal desire to capture the childhood memories of my parents one...I love its quirks and the general feeling of carefree fun bumbling around in it. No need to rush just wind the window down (when it works :D )and enjoy life.

I am sure if I am around I could meet you where the car is but it is not where I live!
It is at my Mum's place as she had a nice large garage which meant I could throw all my spanners about and miss the car
I live in Worthing and the car is in Storrington West Sussex.

I have no worries about people finding it as they have to get past a large DOG! But it is in the sticks and very peaceful 8)
