Re: help please
Hi ,
On my Ital there are two places to tow at front just under valence one each side i presume its the same for a Marina ? Other than than that if its going on a trailor then some ratchet straps round the wheel is usaully the done thing and should hold it no trouble,
Good luck.

Re: help please
i think there is a towing eye on the front chassis leg, if you use a winch to get it on the trailer you could leave it attached to the front eye as a restraint (makin sure its locked!).........for the rears put a ratchet strap round each rear wheel at the halfway/hub mark attach to an eye on the trailer behind the wheel (near the rear of the trailer) then gradually ratchet it tighter till the tyre deforms slightly (dont go mad!!).......if you are really worried then put another strap on the front end of the car as well.

Re: help please
thanks for all your guys, apparently the trailer that i'm renting comes with 2 straps so i think it'll be a case of strapping the 2 rears and leaving the winch on the front.

Re: help please
My van has a towing eye on the fron to each chassis rail IIRC.
My advice to you for towing would be if you only have two straps then do opposite corners. Also, leave it in gear and handbrake on.
If you do the two rears then the front has nothing holding it down and even with the winch attached would have a very real chance of shifting postion.
The straps will hopefully have strops to go either site of the wheel. These are best. If they are just straight forward straps then consider putting them over the axles as a possibility. Make sure they are put on in such a way to restrain the car side to side too though. Would be very easy to get it wrong.
If you're not experienced towing then it's worth mentioning geting the noseweight on the trailer right. 70 - 90 kg is ideal. To check this you should be able to grab hold of the handle on the hitch and lift it with a bit of effort. If you get the weight wrong you'll be in for a very long, uncomfortable journey.
And take your time! Enjoy the looks you get from bewildered Joe Public in their bland euroblobs!!!

Re: help please
cheers 80mojo, tbh i was thinking of doing opposite corners with the straps, as far as i know they are the proper strops as the trailer rental place is a good one, i don't think there will be a problem with towing as i've been driving artics for the past 15 years
, now on buses tho so owt could happen

Re: help please
I had a scary moment trailering my car to Franks, when I noticed that the rear seemed to have jumper up against the trailer edge on one side!
As the shell was stripped it had no dampers on the rear so every bump made the shell bounce like a jack hammer and this action kept meaning the straps became loose. And with the road on the IOW there are many bumps! A bit like the South coast of England now!
After this I strapped the rear axle down and I advice to leave the rear shocks on for trailering
