Re: Mumford rebuild continues
Hi Gary,
I will dig them out and get some pics.
Yes they do push in from front but mine had a L bracket and were riveted in from the rear and only could fit from the rear! The spare vents I have had 2 L brackets each! so 2 rivets per vent!
I will get some pics for you.
They may be also fine pushed in but thought I would let you know just in case

Re: Mumford rebuild continues
Looking better than new Gary 8)
Have you got the heater knobs?
I have some new ones somewhere if you need them.
Sorry I have not got pictures up of the vents yet - been a bit ill as my son went down with a tummy bug and managed to pass it on to Tracey and then me!
So off work today to try and get some food in.
To get that centre of the vent out you must have to pull very hard and I would be worried about breaking the swivel part!

This evenings project. Something that's always got on my nerves. The nackered curvy parcel shelf....

Looks like it's gonna work well....

Re: Mumford rebuild continues
Hi Gary, the silvering is good and have tried to show this in the pictures but not easy.
These came out of a black tulip 72 Saloon, rest of dash was rotted.
One has a plastic fixing half broken but you may not even use that part. I have not cleaned them so they should come up OK. Just don't do what I did and use meths as I have found a couple of times most plastic black items BL did were painted and not just plastic so the paint comes off :?
Unlike the reversing lamp pods and the dash pod!
It seems in 1972 they fixed the vents in well with the extra metal bracket, but 1973 they got a bit worse by missing off the metal bracket!
I had thought that if I could separate the vent from the tube I would swap mine as I repainted mine but the risk of breaking mine was to high. I had tried to separate mine to clean them better but thought it was to hard.

I will work out the cost for you and PM you later.
I will also hook out the heater knobs, I should have 5 or 8 of them some where in my shed!

Re: Mumford rebuild continues
Oh, Gary you must let me know how you got your dash to fit that well?
Around the ash tray and the pod area, mine is just impossible it seems to get lined up.

Re: Mumford rebuild continues
Parcel tray looks nice, I guess hardboard?
Mine was not to bad so just re-blacked it and re-did the vinyl trim which had shrunk back.

Re: Mumford rebuild continues
Does it involve kicking the lower section until trimmed to fit
This had crossed my mind on many occasions.
