Hi Adrian,
John has the head off my marina & replacing the rings. I thought I might pain the rocker cover & engine block but not sure what colours they may have been??!
Any ideas. Under the black on the rocker cover it would appear to be a gold colour like “silverfrost” only gold.
I know to get special Engine Heat resisitant paint.
I am hoping to take it on an “Outback” tour which is being organized by the Darling Downs Chapter of the MG Car club in August this year so want to make sure everything is in good order. I will camp in it! All being well.
We are travelling to Lightning Ridge, Bourke, Charleville, Blackall,  Longreach, Emerald, Biloela & Chinchilla.

Hopefully the roads will be open by then!
We have had so much rain that even here in Toowoomba we have experienced local flooding! At least our water supply is now a certainty!

Regards
Helen

Can anyone help out with engine and tappet cover colurs? Did BL have a standard colour for all 1.3 Marina engines, or were there different colours for different models or states of tune?

Well now,

In the UK all Morris engine blocks and rocker covers should be black, if the car was badged Austin then they would be green.

If your block/rocker cover was gold, then it was a BL factory/Unipart reconditioned unit called "Gold Seal" hence the gold colour.

So the honest colour would be gold as it was a reconditioned unit, or the original unit should be black on a Morris.
