when i get on my other pc i will blow up the pic so you all can read the the for sale sign
Thanks I would apriciate that.
I take it that sourcing a bonnet wouldn't be too difficult? Or, is it a case of mend and make do?

Must say I can't really get my head around some of the prices being asked for these cars - it seems to vary between "free to good home" up to about £5k for something close to perfect. However, the cars seem to vary massively in price yet the quality doesnt always seem to tie in with price tag. Perhaps it's just a case of me not knowing the differences between the cars well enough to apriciate what people are offering for sale?

That's quite nice. Similar colour to my V8.
Must admit, I've got a bit of a penchant for slotmags on 70's tin, though. 8)

here is blown up pic also in the bottom of pic you can see the hole that has developed in the bonet never seen this before could be an easy fix but bonnets are around for spares.
also this car is in the surrey area.

Thank you for that - much appriciated.
It does seem very very cheap @ £500, though? I realise you wern't looking at it critically from a buyers perspective, being at a car show, but from what you recall did it seem sound enough? I suppose what I'm getting at is something along the lines of; Was it a "£500 car" or is it a bargain?

I'll have a word with the other half when she gets home about it if you think it's one worth looking at?

Cheers,

Jon.

apart from needing a respray and new bonnet or repair it seemed ok although did not have a good look like you say was not looking at buying. inside looked tidy enough price not too bad as it does come with spare engine and gearbox

I think i might be struggling here - the other half doesn't seem to keen on the idea of a 7 hour round trip to view a car. :(
Of course, when she had me chasing up and down the country helping her find a Porsche 944 that didn't have sills held together with rust and hope it was a different story... :?

Looks like, from what has been said in the Brooklands thread, that the car has been sold.

Heard from a bloke down the pub that he saw a Marina Coupe body shell in primer on the back of a truck ready to be assembled, this is in a Coventry scrap yard. Apparently had a roll cage in, I will try and find out more information about this but could have been a project that someone didnt get round to finishing.
