What to say???

Chance of you finding another like it is unlikely.

Chance of getting one to this condition ( though you'll never 'beat' the mileage ) for less than £7500? Again unlikely.

So that makes it a bargain! :)

What sort of person would buy it? Not a true Marina fan? Definetly not a true car fan. Cars are bought to be driven.......

I think I know who owns this car 8)
And if it is the one then it will be worth the money.
I spent more on mine and it won't look that good and be that original.
As you say cars need to be driven or they end up not working anyway.

I hope it goes to a good home and it deserves the price what ever anyone says. Bit like the custom pickup that is in a different class but is worth the money.
You have to start to value something that has been around this amount of time and is still here 8)

If people will pay that for a Ford Escort then why not a Marina?

We all know good Marinas have made around £5k in the past and the going rate for a decent one does now seem to be just topping a grand so it's only a matter of time.... although perhaps not just yet

That really is lovely but it would be hard to use that (even for shows) and keep it in the state it is in now. Great to look at in a museum but I wouldn't want to own it, too much of a responsibility.
However if I had won the lottery the other day then I may be tempted, and then use it every day to get it looking like a proper Marina

His maths seem a bit out on the mileage... :?

It is a rarity, but it is still worth what someone will pay. If the seller feels that's not enough then he keeps it. Supply & Demand.

I know of a chap who bought an Ascona in similar condition & mileage (for a fair bit less I must say) and used it as an every day car. And why not...? He got a car he really liked that was as new and had years of life left in it!
