MMOC National Show 2012

Post by MarinaCoupe » Sun Nov 27, 2011 12:51 pm

Following the discussions and vote at the AGM, we've been working towards finding a suitable location in East Anglia that gives us a relatively easy place to get to, an interesting location in itself and somewhere where our members can find accomodation to suit their needs.

The 2012 National will be on the weekend 7th & 8th July at The Norfolk & Suffolk Aviation Museum, Flixton, Suffolk. Andy Walsingham will be designing the road run on the Saturday and we'll have their showground on the Sunday. In addition to the museum itself, we understand that the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association (SSAFA) will be there but were not sure yet whether they will just be collecting or whether they will have some kind of display.

More details as we firm things up.

Checkout the museum website here.

MODS - can I ask you to make this sticky? AND un-sticky the 2011 Nationals and the BMC/BL Spares Day 2011 as they are both in the past? Thanks.

Good news:
Only half an hour up the road from me so nice and cheap to get there

Bad news:
HOLY C**P I'VE GOT A MONTH TO DO ALL THE BODYWORK!

Don't be surprised if a Marina turns up in primer, or even sanded down, or even with a few patch welds and no outer panels....

If all else fails I will have to pinch one of Eamonn's or I will be there on my pushbike...

Jan-Ivar, If you are planning for next year, have you thought about brining the 4x4 van?

Will have to take it up with the Pajero if all else fails, could push it but I doubt the folks on the A140 would be too happy. They don't like it when I'm driving it

Do we know if it is going to be a nice field or a dusty car park?
A nice grass field not to long would be great :D

Paul,

We agreed about Levisham being dusty. If you checkout the museum website, you'll see a field next to the display field. We may also be able to park amongst the planes; we're still working on that but they would be a great backdrop. I'll keep you all informed.
