no allegro or mini this time :)
there was some light snow yesterday + my transporter is on summertires
Image
so i opted for the trailer behind my trusty old rover 600. Luckily the snow changed into rain making the trip less "interesting" :)

The car is a non-runner so there was some issue with the ferrycompany not wanting to take it
Luckily my transport guy worked it all out . I've used him several times and if anyone needs a car transported in uk , i will higly recomend him. He is used to old classics as well - not ripping the car apart just to get in on the transport-truck. .. PM me if anyone would like the details.
And over to the "star" the new car
it's a non-runner - but not so bad chassis-wise
scuttle panel needs replacing
Image
Image
some worrying bodging where it meets the LH wing
Image
and also som obvious repairs
Image
Hopefully the bulkhead and lower A-post will be good

Upper A post in need of repair /replacement
Image

both front wings are dented but looks sound
Image
Image

some rust on the lower edge of the LH door
Image

Fairly good rear wheel-arches
with some home made inner-tubs bolted on

spot on Frank
Image

some rust in the bed
Image
Image
Image

also needs a new tailgate
Image

good news is that it comes with a NOS tailgate (and s/h wings /bonnet/frontwindows/a spare van-wheel , and a non-marina-wheel and half a set of brakes - LOL
Image
Image
Image
Image

some rough welding done to the inner tubs (i should have new ones somewhere, but they would probably be ok with some fixing up)
Image
Image

for some reason all the covers in the bed had been removed but they were all in the car
Image

Also in the car - some evidence of a leak - feeding that green moss :)
Image
Image

headlining needs replacing
Image

dashboard needs paint but aren't messed with
Image

a rip in the drivers seat -
Image

got to love the simplicity of the commercial doors.

Image

Thrusty old 1300 - - now with removed bottom hose as most UK cars comes with no antifreeze, this however had a proper mix - but the engine is coming out anyway.
Image

reason for buying= a MUCH more sound example than the one i have - only downside is that it is a mk2 compared to the mk1 i have.
Progress estimate = in que behind the austinn marina GT, (full rebuild) a cortina Crayford (light resto) and possibly a vauxhall estate (just a paint-job) - So maybe next summer ?
Image

also used the opportunity to bring over some spares , and this old BL-reliquie
Image

BTW - are these the correct commercial mirrors ??

Well done Jan-Ivar, I was following this one on EBay but didn't bid. What are your plans - spares or repairs?
