The ones fitted to minis destroy the paint as they clamp on.
I had some years ago on a mini but not as robust as the proper ones out in Oz

Im just thinking about looks, i dont have the urge to go nudging cows around in a field, but i think it looks good
heres a pic of what i was thinking...
This is my mates old Mini Clubman:

Although, i was thinking of something a bit better suited to the Marina, if i remember rightly the part of the bars that goes to the wings was just screwed in to the wing with a self tapping screw!

I also saw some on a Ford Capri a while ago on eBay
Heres a video

you just ned some pipe and someone with a pipe bender, a guy local to me once made up a full roll cage for a old landrover i owed, but doubt if you'd need such a thick bar for a Marina, get it made up and chromed or painted, fairly easy if you can fins a pipe bender.

Best get them fitted properly unlike the mini ones, I had the same type as the one pictured. Went in Skip after a short time.
did make it look a bit like a shopping trolley so if you do make some up, make them nicer than those ones.

i would call the one on the Mini a nudge bar, it would have to be much more substantial for a bull bar
for example the one in the photo on the Nissan Patrol is a Bullbar

This is a 1974 Marina - in those days they were called Roo bars.

I guess the name is dependent on what you may hit!
Here it would be Sea Gull bars or Pigeon Bars.

If your in town - Drunk Bars or if in Brighton - Gay Bars!! :D

I think down my way the only thing I would run into would be some ducks or a small vole, so i might just needs some paper clips rather then nudge bars... There is a shop that i get most of my parts from and the other day i spotted a pipe bender and had the same thought, just need to find some pipe laying around, or maybe an old exhaust :D thanks for the pics aswell guys, i like the one of the "Roo Bars" but i think it over hangs a bit too much for just decoration.
Just out of interest, if i was making it myself where would anyone mount it to the car? i noticed a couple of holes that could be used either side of the sump on the body near the anti roll bars, i thought they could go there, as im not looking for too much strength, just as long as it sits still is fine for me.

just thought id bump this topic and say that after taking the bumper off, the bolts for it could be used for a decorative nudge bar, mounting nearer to the middle of the nudge bar and to the bottom somewhere and making it stable enough not to need any support mounts at the top... although i would need to weld and have no experience of it nor the tools, i guess i could bend them first and maybe take them to a local garage to see if they would weld the bits im thinking something like this, with mounts welded on to the thicker part to fit where the bumper was:

At least I can prevent this...
