Does anyone know if a separate inlet and exhaust manifold are available for the 1700

Not for the 1700. The 2000 sd1 had a separate affair but they are as rare as 1700 Marina's and Ital's.

Rimmer Bros still list the exhaust manifold (twin downpipe) in stainless for the 2 litre O series.

Apparently it does not readily fit the Marina engine bay though.

You may need to have manifolds made to spec for that engine - but it would likely save you about 30lbs in weight...

I am steeling myself (read bank balance..) to follow this path.
