Hi Stu

I run the MMOC site on my lonesome and am still on holiday in the Lake District, I can't build web pages from my laptop or upload them, it's all on my desktop at home. I am home on Friday and intend to put up the National stories at the weekend, each story probably takes 3-4 hours to peice together.

Just to let you know, over the weekend I have taken over 100 pics of the two runs and the National and have to edit to create workable stories. This site is great for dropping pics and stuff onto - but to create something as a comprehensive long term record takes a little planning.

As far as the Featured Car is concerned I normally leave each new one on the lead page for about three months. I have the next one ready to go. The other thing is that I have to go looking for cars to feature, when I started the Featured Cars I expected to have contributions crawling out of the woodwork. Instead I usually have to twist arms to get some pics and a story, unless I do them myself. I have spoken to lots of members who have wanted to create a Featured Car story - but am still waiting for the material. Most people can take a picture, but you would be surprised by the number of shots with bits of the cars missing or out of focus, getting the notes to tell a story is even more difficult. Right now apart from the article in the bag, I don't have anything to follow up with.

As far as cars are concerned - yes you are right some of the pics have been on their for some time (3 years plus), the original idea was to make a photographic record of every car in the club, there are well over 100 cars on there now. Unless the owners tell me that they now own a car that I have listed to someone else, I am none the wiser. You only have to look at the cars on there with no notes - assuming that they are on the net, they haven't bothered to let us know about their car.

As an aside, just to give you an idea, the club has email addresses for less than 50% of the membership, even now we get new members who omit their email addresses and we get calls from Marina owners wanting to join who aren't on the net.

This forum and its' predeccessor has a similar problem. Lots of viewers - look at the number of members, then look at the number of contributors, probably a couple of dozen regulars like you and me.

As far as general updates are concerned, I work away from home Monday to Friday, so really only get weekends to do all the family things, work on my Marina and update the website - there are times when if someone has said that they would like to take it over I would gladly give em the lot and say get on with it.

No offence taken, it has given me an opportunity to explain a few things.

regards

sorry chris I was not meaning to have a go that was not my intention after I have taken my foot out of my mouth I now understand more and realise as I said people do have lives and other interests also I did not realise you did all on your own in which case well done and keep up the good work I think I will keep my mouth shut from now on as at the moment I seem to keep putting my foot in it. I may have a feature car for future months as I am about to start painting my pageant blue mk3 this weekend and as soon as it's finished and I CAN FIND ALL THE BITS I NEED TO COMPLETE IT I will have a photographic record from purchase through to finished job I will give you a shout

Now you are talking my language - I'll take that as an offer of a Featured Car.

Start making notes of the things that you think are important, so that there's a thread to the story.

Keep up the great work Chris!! I have spent ages looking at all the pictures on the MMOC site and it has given me a good window as to who has what car / cars and even past cars of some people! It is a good way to put faces to cars etc.

I will have some restoration pictures and story when mine is finished, but seems lots of Jubilees have surfaced since I joined mid 2006!
Bit like buses! None then they all come alone at once.

Still I don't think they will be classed as common just yet

Buy the way, I noticed on club ecosse website they have a picture of a chap called Matty restoring a Jubilee!! Does anyone now more about it and its reg no. ?
I would be interested to see more.

Regards,
Paul.

All Jubilee's were saloons in Citron Larry. Sounds like a Mk1 TC Coupe in Blaze?
