Stainless Steel Exhaust's.

Post by SLOW ITAL » Thu Apr 25, 2013 2:26 pm

New 'Understeer' just arrived.
Nice Job as usual.

The article about making bespoke stainless exhaust systems,
Was this yours Chris, or Andy's ?
In the article they want a 1.7/2.0 front pipe that G.E.S. can borrow to make up a pattern.
Andy W is holding 1 of these for me
They could loan that 1 if it could be got down to them.

Hi Gil

My negotiation with GES and my article. Richard Clayton has said yes to loaning his exhaust, but I'm struggling to get it down to their factory.

If anyone can help get a front exhaust pipe from Leamington Spa to Collumpton in Devon and then back again a week or so later, please contact me.

I'm going to pick up a system for my Pickup whilst I am at the Nationals and bring it home with me.

Thanks for the negotiation work Chris, they sound rather good- and I was particularly pleased to see they are prepared to quote for "mix n' match" exhausts 8-)

Stu that would be fine, we just need to get a front part of the 1.7 system to their factory. If you can get it there that would be great, as it's beyond repair there would be no need to get it back to you.

Re: Stainless Steel Exhaust's.ITAL REAR SILENCERS

Post by MARINAMADBAZ » Tue Jun 25, 2013 9:31 pm

I see in the latest club magazine the club are still after ital rear silencers(just 2.0 but its all models)
I have several new ital exhausts hung up in the garage made by walker several years ago for me these are saloon only with the straight end, I presume that these would have been copied from an original I had and I think the original would be the ms1114 part numbered.
the magazine lists ms108 for ital 1.3/1.7 but this is a marina exhaust which is a slender silencer, the ital ones are a rounder/fatter silencer which are quieter then a ms108 and these were fitted to all ital models 1.3/1.7/2.0 to improve noise reduction.
the marina ms108 will fit ital's but is a slender silencer and more noisy.
I will get a picture and if the club needs a sample I can help.
Best regards
Barry

Hi Barry

GES provided the part numbers from a Timax list I think as they sent me scanned pages from an exhaust catalogue.

If you are able to measure the silencer dimensions and pipe sizes and a picture, I can pass them on to GES.
