Somerset Black Tulip TC Update

Post by MikeyB » Mon May 13, 2013 1:00 am

Hi everyone,

Just thought I'd post an update on the current status with myself and my Dad's car.

Mum and I took the car into the garage for it's MOT last Tuesday and it passed with flying colours!! :-D (Was nice to know that my greasing of the front suspension was up to scratch!)

Also, as of last Wednesday, I am now officially insured on the car and have already had the pleasure of driving it which went well. :-D

Hopefully, providing that no unexpected problems occur, I shall be able to bring the car down to the National in July where I look forward to meeting many of you!

Thanks again to all of you for your support over the last few months.

I'm with an insurer called Peter Taylor. All that I know is that they work with Allianz as it's on the official documentation.

Mum rang up a couple of companies and they all said 'no' straight away because of my age. But, this one said 'yes' to add me as a named driver and with Mum staying as the policy holder. Mind, the only reason they let me on this policy was because I'm insured on another car!

Peter S Taylor didn't really want to know when I called them

Most companies are pretty picky now about young classic drivers being insured on another car. Not so bad after a couple of years of driving but would be crippling financially in the first year or so (I'm paying less for two cars this year then I did for one last year!).
