Screen Rubbers

Post by LIL1937 » Thu May 30, 2013 8:19 pm

Hello, question from the new boy,

I expect its been asked before, I cannot see it but, can I get a rear screen rubber for a mk1 TC coupe, I've found new front ones but believe the rears to be difficult or non existent!
Any help for supply of either would be appreciated, or perhaps another way round ,

Thanks Andy

They are pretty impossible to find :(
Fruity used an escort one. It's in his thread somewhere. I'll try and find the details......
1974 Marina Tc Coupe - 1950CC
1982 Morris Ital HL Estate - 7600 miles from new
1992 Lada Niva Cossack - brilliant
2008 Ducati 1098R TB21 LE 200bhp/99lb/ft of a monster on two wheels. All from 1198cc
1998 Laverda 750 Formula-rare
1997 Ducati 916 Senna - Awesome
!974 Honda CD175-awaiting resto - now stripped

It's a Mk3 escort one though not sure if its a front or rear one he used for his back window. It had to be cut to fit slightly but is a good substitute.
PM Fruity to make sure maybe?

Hi balmy,
Thanks for your response, I'm sure I've read somewhere about the escort modification but I cannot find it!,
So if you can find the link I'd appreciate it,

Andy

If a link was changed to "ebay linky" then that was probably Sam, because she's sad..

 On the subject of coupe screen rubbers, East Kent Trim make new Mk3 Escort front screen rubbers - maybe it wouldn't be too difficult for them to supply them to fit the Marina coupe? They've been unavailable for so long that must be a reasonable market for them.

hey they make them in NZ, or maybe I just got very lucky with my coupe?
There's a company called Basics that makes them apparently 8-)

Hi Chris
Marina apparently, there were loads of them here and in OZ. I've got two brand new rubbers in my coupe, the windscreen man had two in the stores!!!!

Hi Chris, perhaps that's an avenue that needs pursuing if they have plenty!
Be interesting to find out anyhow!

My thoughts exactly.

Not knowing the NZ motor parts scene at all, what would be the best way to find out who has what? Anyone.

I'd be interested if we could organise a bulk order.
