On further checking it's actually the pump to carb pipe. I found some stainless braided petrol hose left over from the Coupe and fitted it.

Also found a tear in the timing chain box breather to carb hose. When I pinched the tear closed the engine ran smoother. When I pulled it off the engine stalled. So I have replaced that as well.

Engine runs much smoother and no longer leaks petrol onto the exhaust manifold - always a good thing.

All this work is surprising as I only put it all together earlier in the year, although both the hoses were reused so there's no telling how old they are.

Haven't done anything at all to the car (it's still laid up with a duff starter), but did pop across to Kent to visit Lee and collect a few more bits for the Estate resto. The Room of Marina now looks like this:

Spot the deliberate mistake...

NOS panels are all well and good, and I'm rather chuffed with the collection so far- but I think these bits are probably my favourites 8-)

Cheers again Lee :mr green:

Full marks- they were off eBay as a set with the fronts, the bonnet and the bootlid. I only really need front doors (although as Lee had one NOS estate rear that's on the pile too...) and the bonnet but since they were only up in Birmingham it was worth the run up. The interior is saloon too, but I'll be having my seats retrimmed- it was the door cards & various other bits and bobs that I was after.

Good to meet you at last too Lee- Volvo was good as gold on the way back once I'd managed to get the handbrake off, must look at that

Did a 243 mile round trip in the coupe on Sunday to a really good show in the Lake District. Only marina there as I was a bit late in letting Stu know. There was a good turn out of cars even though there was a couple of thunderstorms. Off up to Scotland next weekend for the moffat show so hope the weather is a bit better.
