Took both to a local car show (about 100 yards from my house) Learnt how to put the hood up in a hurry on the Mumford, only to realise I had left both windows open on the coupe across the other side of the field.
Took some photos of both together

Re: What did you do to your Marina today?
Went for a drive- down to Brizzle early (for a Sunday!) this morning for a classic/ retro/ inexplicable hordes of MX5s with stick on chrome and modern BMWs show in Queen's Square. Followed that with a trundle round the corner to the Tube Diner, which is an American style diner set up in two Airstream caravans. Good selection of vehicles turned up outside there too.
Then a blast down to Cheddar Gorge for a cuppa and a few photos, including a few "action" shots. Nice Police lady came for a chat too... apparently they were expecting hordes of yoofs out for a "crooze" later on, and were seeing if we were anything to do with it, which we weren't. Apparently the group of modified hatches a bit further down the road were gone over with a fine toothcomb, we just had a pleasant chat... Nice owning an older car sometimes

Re: What did you do to your Marina today?
Went over to the Beaulieu Autojumble today...found some good stuff for a change, picked up a NOS Mk1 rear bumper, a nearside front wing (gen), ital lower arms, a couple of interior door handles and I turned down a NOS rear bumper for a MK1 US spec!, there was loads of other panels for sale too including rear chassis rails, ital rear quarters, estate rear quarters, rear valances, floor pans, inner front wing, loads of bumpers for mk2 and 3 Marinas and plenty of lamp units, best Beaulieu for Marina bits in years

Me?
Washed the wheels (I like shiney!)
Checked water and oil - all OK.
Refitted a speaker grille that had fallen off.
Cleaned the (rubber) floor-mat on the passengers side where 'her-indoors' spilled 'something' last week it was gravy or something like that from some food in a pot, took some scrubbing.
Glad I don't have carpet!

Re: What did you do to your Marina today?
pity you were working it was a good little show, an eclectic selection of cars to say the least, but friendly people, some good music being played and great weatherMarinanut wrote:My Mrs was toddling around the seafront do today; she photo'd your coupe, Eamonn.... recognised it instantly! Re: What did you do to your Marina today?
Bolted the rear bumper to the newly refabbed valence on the Ital estate, wired up the electrickery bits and most worked.... fitted a new back strap for the exhaust, then fired the old beggar up and moved it across the drive ready for the arrival of the yellow rustmarina tomorrow.....

Re: What did you do to your Marina today?
I purchased 3 x propshaft universals - have 2 dead ones in 1 propshaft.
Having recently purchased a Marina part off "Trademe" NZ and struck up a conversation with the seller - I asked him to email me with any other bits he had.
He did.
I suggested he might like to sell it all as a job lot.
Today he got back to me.
He would.
How does this sound..?
Found a spare upright and it is in excellent condition - but still a lot of cleanup required.
Strobed ignition and adjusted carb settings on a 1700 auto.
Life is good...

I also replaced rear brake cylinders on two cars, stripped the left front suspension on my red estate to find that the trunnion is absolutely naff.hi ken.thanks for the email. would like to sell as one lot. I will give a price individually, then a bulk price. 2x ital. suspension kits @ $35- each, 4x lower radiator hoses @15- each, 3x top radiator hoses @ 7.50 each, 3x early MARINA clutch hoses @ $12- each, 2x ITAL MARINA clutch hoses @ $12- each, 2x MARINA 1700 headsets @ $35- each, 1x MARINA 1.8 headset @ $35-, 3x MARINA 72-78 front indicator lens @ $25- each, 2x MARINA 1.8 laygears/cluster gears @ $85- each, 2xL/H and 2x R/H front wheel cylinders MARINA van @ $20- each, 2x air filters MARINA 1.7/1.8 @ $10- each. total comes to $760- ,can do a job lot for $650- plus freight. the 2x laygears would be worth new round $300-$350- each,so on that basis I think balance would be a fair price. let me know what you think.thanks Russell.
