Nice pics David.

I spent the afternoon taking my own advice, adjusted the Pickups' tappets, tweaked the mixture and reset the ignition.

Planning on going to Woburn Abbey next Sunday, first show this year.

As it was Drive it Day and nice weather I took mine out for a good long run, did about 150 miles in total, first time she's been out this year!

Very pretty car that Josh 8-)

I had a visit from the Marina Parts Fairy (don't try and picture him in a tutu though, it'll scar you for life...) with a selection of bits and pieces for both cars, including some very nice TC goodies for the Estate- a few more bits of the jigsaw falling into place :mr green: Cheers again Andy!

Balmy, your youtube link opens a playlist including a load of clips from the Nationals that I hadn't seen before. Some nice bits of footage in there (and some not so good ).

conversion of wipers and indicators to MkII connections.JPG
With Lesley away for the day on a cheify course I could play with the Marina wiring without interuption. The intension was to convert the wipers and indicator stalks from MkI connectors to MkII connectors.

I have been emailing Chris about this and from his direction bought some MkII connectors from 'Holden Vintage spares', so have spending a few days previously checking the wiring with a multimeter and comparing it to a spare MkII unit and an allegro unit (from a scrapyard).

Today I cut the wires and soldered on the new plugs and sockets with longer tails, the idea being that the original MkI connectors will stay in place but the MkII connectors are more accessable and I can add an aftermarket intermittent wipe and possibly Chris's wash wipe when he has the wiring diagram cracked.

It went well and I can use either the original MkI stalks or the later MkII, but in practise there are signs of blackening of the very much smaller MkI wires at the switch, so the MkII stalks are fitted. I'm also soldering up the intermittent (Maplin)wiper kit for the next phase and more mods!

This new and easy method of attaching pictures is now better than my other forums, thanks Ben.

Took the coupe for an MOT,failed on front tie bar bushes on both sides, and "little or no effort" from the offside rear brake. I have superflex bushes to replace the rubbers and the brakes should be sorted with a hammer and copper grease. Advisory on prop shaft centre bearing and play in the steering rack.
Chris, have you any of the bushes left in stock for the rack? I need one for the coupe and one for the Mumford.

Got a WOF (MOT to you Poms) yesterday - no issues at all. :-D

Now to clean overspray off the bits that didn't need paint... :frown:

And touch up the area below the rear window before I put the NEW tonnea cover on!
