One was GCV 356N the mint Glacier 1.8 SDL saloon and one was a Brooklands Green MK2 estate.

Not that many considering how many other cars were lost but then you remember they would have all been MOT'd :(

I rode in it on the National Road Run in Cumbria some years back. It was a very good car receiving the runner up place in the Mk1 judging the following day.

The guy had bought it as an investment and paid £2.5k at the time.

I spoke to him after he PX'd it for scrappage and he said that it was the only way that he could 'get his money back on it'. He bought a new Hyundai and got his £2k scrappage allowance.

He wasn't a Marina fan, he thought that it would be an appreciating asset that he could sell on for a profit after a couple of years.

Well cracking investment on the Hyundai, bet that's worth all of £2k by now.

I think he bought it from the dealer I saw it at. It was advertised for about 2.5k and that was about 8/9 years ago.
What a moron.

I thought that was a pretty good result really.
Particularly when there were over 700 Jaguars and Daimlers lost...

Some muppet even scrapped a corvette! I've never seen one with an mot for less than 5 grand!

Guess for some people it comes down to being too easy. No hassle having to try and sell something.
