mk1 estate speedo cable NZ

Hi Guys,
A question for the new Zealand marina guys/girls.
looking for someone who makes estate speedo cables in nz.......and why do my cables keep breaking?
ive broken 3 in two years.
Any help appreciated

Hi maybe your cable is not routed quite right or maybe there's a bad engine earth making the earth travel up through the cable making it hot and seize

If your speedo is seizing up that would do it.

Often when I pull the inner cable out there will be a rust patch where the cable runs beneath the car.
Make sure if you keep re-using the same outer that it is not letting water in.
Also liberally grease the inner when fitting.

I would try either E Parrott & Son (366 9554) or Safe-R-Brakes (379 6140)
I also went through quite a few cables at one time - I think greasing them was the answer.
