That looks perfect. Well done.

I can only think that if more Marinas in the day looked like many on this forum - they would have demanded far more loyalty from their owners...

Fitted the new battery to Ozzy. Headlights work, but not the park lights or wipers - need to get a test probe and fix the earths. Electric fuel pump kept ticking, so must be out of fuel. Engine turned over, albeit rather slowly.

Hopefully all little jobs to work on when I can get a spare hour.

Repacked some of the boxes of parts I got from Ben - had a wee flood through the garage and the bottom two boxes got a bit damp! Only clutch and suspension bits, so no harm done.

Bitten the bullet and started building up new 1.3 engine bottom half for the Pickup. Need to get rid of the blue smoke from the current engine on over-run - diagnosed as piston ring(s). Took my spare A plus block to my local engineers for acid dipping (to get the crud out of the waterways) and a hone or rebore as necessary.

Prepared the Mumford for the MOT tomorrow. Number plate and indicator bulb, then the fun started.Got it running with the aid of some easystart, made sure clutch was free then thought is that petrol I can smell? Opened the bonnet to find a shower of petrol, every pipe on the pressure side of the pump was split and leaking!
Had to replace all the petrol pipes under the bonnet on the pressure side,no wonder it didn't want to start.

Hi Glen

What was the problem with the hoses, ethanol rotting it from the inside?

Yes,just seems odd they both failed at the same time,at least I know the pump is working well. The smell of petrol has now seeped in the house!

If the two pieces of hose were originally fitted at the same time, then they would have the same amount of exposure to the fuel.
